Newborn & Baby Photography Galway

My name is Kinga and I’d love to be your newborn photographer. I know there are lots of us out there – people who photograph sweet little cherubs and baby bumps — and so many do a great job.

As a mother myself, though, and as someone who’s so passionate about photography that I’ve dedicated my life to perfecting the art, I can’t help but want to capture more tiny toes, button noses and sweet smiles.

Whether you’re a brand new mommy, someone who’s been in the game for a few years (like me) or you have yet to give birth to your precious bun, one fact remains true: photographs of your children are so important. Not just because they grow and change so fast, but because they last forever and
because your loved ones want to stay in the know! I capture it all, too. Maternity photos, Milestone photography, sibling pictures and beyond. All those moments and details? They’re absolutely worth preserving.

I think, my favourite time is when they are up to 2 weeks old (11 days – magic date). They are mainly eating and deeply sleep, which is very helpful when you want to pose them properly. They are still very flexible, and prefer to be tightly wrapped, so they are feeling like in the womb. And that newborn look – priceless!!!

Of course I don’t mind at all to have session with older newborns, but you need to be prepared, that they can be more alert, less sleepy and love to stretch, so trying pose them in a deep sleep would be a bit difficult.
Still we can get a beautiful images, but probably more focused on a connections between all of you, or poses that don’t need sleeping posing.

Also, I highly recommend you my “Watch Me Grow” All Inclusive big package, which includes newborn, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and first birthday sessions. More details will be provided soon in Offers section.

Newborns are not very patient when it comes to outfit changes. I suggest having your child in an outfit you’d like him/her to wear for the photos before you get to the session, covering the outfit a bib or burp rag in case
of little incidents. After we take a few photos in this outfit, I prefer to take the rest of the photos in just the nappy, or completely in the nude. In my opinion, babies photograph best this way and they will also cooperate
longer if we are not constantly changing their outfits. If you are not comfortable with this, we can stick with one or two outfits for the session, plus other outfit props included.
If you are going to be in photos with your child, I suggest having a backup shirt, just in case. I also suggest that you wear/have a white or black shirt in case we need to photograph parts of you with your child on the backdrop (for example, just your hands holding the baby) so you don’t stand out.
For mommies, I suggest keeping jewellery to a minimum, as babies like to grab hold of these items. If you have any wardrobe questions, please contact me. I’d be more than happy to help.

Make sure your child is well fed before the session. Try to schedule the photos around feeding time. If your baby has a full belly, that usually equals a happy baby. In addition to that, you should also be sure your baby has a fresh, clean diaper. No child is cooperative sitting in a dirty diaper. This may seem like an obvious tip, but in the rush of everything, sometimes
we forget the basics. If it’s possible , please try to keep your baby awake and active for about two hours before the session. This will help to keep them nice and sleepy when the session starts. It is important to bring a pacifier to your session. Even if you are not allowing your child to regularly use one,
it will be good for a short time just to help him or her calm down during this time of potential stress. If your baby starts to fuss and we cannot stop the crying by other means, this will typically help ease the baby’s nerves.

My newborn sessions are completely focused on a baby, and tailored around your and baby comfort. Sessions are never rushed, we have time for a feeding, changing nappies or a cuddle with parents.
I have a wide range of backdrops, props (baskets, little beds, etc.), of course a proper newborn posing bean bag, hand-made little outfits for boys and girls and beautiful hats and headbands ( I’m truly addictive of buying
new headbands!). I usually plan 3 or 4 different set-ups just for the baby plus some family pictures, with Dad and the baby, Mum and the baby and siblings together.Newborn photoshoot can take up to 3 hours. depending how sleepy, hungry and relaxed is your bunch of joy.
